The Mother Wound Intensive · For Women · Austin, TX
You became who she needed. Now it's time to become who you are.
A women-only therapy intensive for healing the mother wound, using attachment-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and EMDR. Concentrated time to stop circling the same story and start feeling something shift.

What is the mother wound?
Maybe she was critical, unpredictable, or emotionally far away. Maybe she was struggling with her own pain, addictions, or history. Maybe she loved you fiercely but couldn't see you. Maybe she wasn't there at all. Whatever the shape, many of us learned early that our feelings were too much, our needs were a burden, and love had to be earned.

Those lessons don't stay in childhood. They show up in how we love, how we work, how we parent, and how we talk to ourselves.
The mother wound isn't about blaming your mom. It's about the space between what you needed from her and what she was able to give.
Is this you?
You might be carrying a mother wound if you:

-
Feel responsible for everyone's feelings, and guilty when you put yourself first
-
Can't quite rest unless everything is done and done well
-
Find yourself shrinking, people-pleasing, or over-functioning in relationships
-
Still feel like a little girl around your mom, even as a grown woman
-
Grieve a mother who is alive, or one who is gone, or one you never really had
-
Are a mom now and terrified of passing the pain down
-
Have talked about your mom in therapy for years and still feel it in your body
"I understand why she was the way she was. I just don't understand why it still hurts this much."
If that line landed somewhere in your chest, this intensive was made for you.
Why an intensive?
The mother wound runs deep, and 50 minutes a week can feel like opening a door just to close it again. An intensive gives us hours instead of minutes. We get to stay with what comes up, follow it to its roots, and give your nervous system time to actually finish the work, not just talk about it.
Three reasons women choose this format:
-
Room to go deep. No rushing to wrap up just as something important surfaces.
-
Momentum. Focused days build on each other instead of starting over each week.
-
A dedicated pause. For a woman who's always caring for everyone else, setting aside days just for your healing is part of the medicine.

I weave together approaches that work with the heart, the body, and the brain:
-
Attachment-focused therapy. We look at the blueprint your earliest relationship gave you, and how it still shapes the way you connect, trust, and protect yourself.
-
Emotion-focused therapy. We make room for the feelings you learned to tuck away: grief, anger, longing, and tenderness. We meet them with compassion instead of shame.
-
EMDR. We help your brain reprocess the memories and moments that still carry an emotional charge, so they can finally feel like the past.
-
Parts and somatic work. We get curious about the parts of you that learned to survive, like the perfectionist, the caretaker, and the one who never cries, and help them rest.
Â
This isn't a place where you have to get it "right." There's room for tears, humor, creativity, and a little mess.
Meet Estella
I know what it's like to be the strong one.
I'm a Latina, first-generation college graduate, partner, mom, and neurodivergent therapist. I know what it means to grow up holding it together, to carry family stories that weren't mine to carry, and to wonder what's left of you when you stop performing.

My work centers on complex trauma and the ways our earliest relationships shape how we see ourselves. I'm especially drawn to women who have spent years being resilient and are ready to be something softer: whole.

I'm colorful, quirky, crafty, and very much myself in the therapy room. I want you to be able to show up as your full self too.
